Truthfully, I used the video chat just to become comfortable with it.  My video chat with Ms. Lanier-Williams was actually very exciting.  I had never used anything like it before!  We chatted about possible classroom uses and how students respond to having their images shown.

Reflection

 I'm not certain that there will be any way to use this in my classroom, but I suppose that if I have home-schooled student or something it might be useful.

But also, I read a novel wherein the writer speculated that sooner or later we would all create avatars of our video chat selves, so we wouldn't look so stupid to the person on the other end.  I definitely felt self-conscious about my appearance when I was seeing my colleague seeing me.
